Thank you so much for the opportunity to learn more about sewing... so far... I can sew a straight line :-)
ReplyDeleteAwesome competition!
ReplyDeleteWOW awesome Comp - i have been sewing for about 6mths :D Need as much help as i can on the basics...still trying to learn LOTS!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea...I've been sewing on and off for a few years (more off than on though)...need inspiration :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great competition. I have been sewing since I was 7-8 and was taught by my very patient mum. I bought my first sewing machine when I was pregnant with my daughter and only made one set of curtains and some nappies and then it got put away. I havent had alot of time until recently now my two bubs are a little older and I am enjoying sewing for them. I feel like I am relearning the basics from scratch.
ReplyDeleteI have took an interest in sewing when I was a young teen, but school, then work seemed to prioritise over it. I mentioned to my other half that I loved sewing when I was younger, and for christmas one year he bought me a sewing machine. I found I had forgottenalot of what I had learnt, so when I visited my mum in me lb I took a course with Nicole mallalieu, which was amazing!
ReplyDeleteThe blog is looking amazing Renee, what a great start and well....everyone knows that I can't sew from a pattern to save myself so this would be perfect :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome Comp :D
ReplyDeleteOops. I've been sewing as long as I can remember. My Mum worked in a fabric shop back in the day so I always has access to beautiful fabrics and vintage patterns.
DeleteI've been sewing since a young age as I always interested at anything crafts related. A million thanks to my mother, my grandmother and my aunt who taught me the basics of hand and machine sewing (using their vintage singer sewing machines). I then bought my first sewing machine when I was 19 and have never looked back!
ReplyDeleteWow...This is one uber awesome prize!
ReplyDeleteI have been sewing for a few years now, based on what I learned in high school! I did do a refresh course at my local community college
ReplyDeletewould love this, I have been sewing for about 3 years now, but being self taught I have A LOT to learn :-)
ReplyDeleteFabulous competition!!
ReplyDeleteI learnt to sew at high school (many years ago lol) but have only taken it back up again in the past 12 months. Loving it, but have so much to learn! x
I am so excited about this giveaway! I literally have to decide next Friday (pay day) if I can afford this course...I had to put it off in the last round! Would love to win :D
ReplyDeleteI've been sewing since December last year. I did Textiles at school about 10 years ago but I was a bludgy teenager back then. The only benefit it gave me was some common sense machine knowledge...I'm scared to even try a zip or button! I was planning to enroll in this course at the end of this week IF I can afford it. This is a great prize! :)
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed! I would love this hehe
ReplyDeletecant wait to see your next blog post renee ;)
Great prize! I learnt to sew in high school but hadn't sewn anything since then until about 6 months ago
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome prize, would love to win this!! I haven't done any sewing since high school and have only recently taken it back up again. Anything to help advance my basic skills would be fantastic!!!
ReplyDeleteHave been sewing on and off for about 2 years. I love sewing for my kids but am completely self taught (except for a few hints from my mum ;)) so would love to learn how to do things 'properly'. My goal is to be able to sew clothes for myself but - too scared yet ;)
ReplyDeleteMost things I try and sew I try and wing it...usually with them not turning out that well lol! With 2 littlies at home I would love the chance to do this course at home while they sleep :)
ReplyDeleteOh and sewing off and on for a couple of years...
Deletei have only just started teaching myself to sew this year. I am really enjoying it and hope to sew clothes for my little girl next. This beginners course would be a great start for me :)
ReplyDeletei have been sewing on and off since learning in high school. took it back up reguarly after i had my son 2 years ago. now i cant go one week without sewing something! still learning new things all the time :D
ReplyDeleteI started sewing when I was little and got a bit more experience in high school but I'm pretty much self taught :)
ReplyDeleteI have been sewing for a few months now, i took it up as a hobby, and to get me off the computer! I have mostly figured things out on my own woth a bit of help from YouTube and other tutorials online. I just make simple stuff for my kids. shorts, applique on shirts, library bags and some simple softies.
ReplyDeletewould love to learn some tips and techniques as I'm new to sewing :)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea!!
ReplyDeleteI have been sewing since high school (many many MANY years ago) but only recently ventured into quilting and sewing clothes etc with the help of Youtube :)now fabric is yet another obsession!! :)
ReplyDeleteI've sewn since i was young as my mum used to sew for us girls. By the time my little sister came along mum had stopped, I feel my sister has missed out for sure. I have taken it up again after a 20yr break! I'd love to do the basics again, I have never been able and still cannot read a pattern and sew by just looking at the pattern pictures. Great prize and great that its out there, I will go have a look now.
ReplyDeleteI have always watched my mum sew i have sewed off and on since high school so almost 10 years but am very amateur and am still a bit scared to try new more complicated looking things!
ReplyDeleteI've been sewing since last year. No one has taught me to sew. I have been learning off the sewing library facebook, the internet and just giving things a go :)
ReplyDeleteBrilliant competition - what a prize! I would LOVE to win this and learn how to do things properly!!
ReplyDeleteHave been sewing for almost 2 years, but avoiding the harder things - button holes, zips etc. I need to learn the basics :)
ReplyDeleteZips still scare the bejeesus out of me I avoid paterns based on if they include a zip...its really time to fix that :)
ReplyDeleteI've been sewing since I was a child but have done very little over the past10 years while studying. So I've realized now that I'm very rusty! What a great competition.
ReplyDeleteWHAT a GREAT competition... couldn't tink of anything better to WIN... I most definately need to learn/re learn the basics... cheers Leonie N (facebook)
ReplyDeletei 'learnt' to sew at school but never really embraced the 'skill' (or in my case lack there of - i'm a near enough is good enough, kinda girl) until my second baby was born. I would love to sew every day but unfortunately life sometimes gets in the way. The opportunity to learn how to do things the right way would be AMAZING
ReplyDeleteRenee has passed on her enthusiasm and passion for sewing to me although I have much much much to learn!!! I'm so excited for her and other TSL members that the blog is up and running at long last!!! I don't know what I did before TSL existed hahaha
ReplyDeleteI've only gotten into sewing in 2012!
DeleteI have been sewing since I was young
ReplyDeleteWhat a great competition. That would be great to many levels of skill.
ReplyDeleteNew to the sewing game but loving it so far!!
ReplyDeleteI have been sewing for a few years now. Would love to learn as much as I can!
ReplyDeleteI've been sewing for one year this month. I've read about the course before and would love to be able to take part. Great competition, thanks!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I've tried to sign in using google but it won't let me? So using my old blog as URL sign in :)
I havent really been sewing much in fact my machine seems to look back at me collecting dust on the cover...oops think i had better to start using it.
ReplyDeletehope i win :)
ReplyDeleteI learned to sew many years ago but have forgotten so many of the basic techniques so this course would definitely come in handy! Thanks for the giveaway :)
ReplyDeleteIt was a great decision joining TSL on Facebook especially now that a blog had been created - more info to absorb and learn!! ... been sewing since primary age til high school as a subject at school but had been rusty ever since. Would be fantastic to re-learn the basic to broaden my skills! Wonderful comp!
ReplyDeleteI have been sewing on and off for ever.... but have finally decided to really get into it :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway!!! :)
ReplyDeleteWith a cupboard stashed with sewing supplies & a machine & overlocker ready to be used, lessons are what I desperately NEED! I've owned my sewing machine for 2 years, but have only ever done the basics, & by basics, I'm talking straight stitch to sew two pieces of fabric together! What a great idea to have lessons online! A much better way to learn rather than try to fit it around a hectic household of 6!
ReplyDeleteFantastic giveaway!! I am absolutely hopeless at reading (and following!!) patterns so I hope I win and finally get some "real" education PMSL!!
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of an online course...to fit around our own busy schedules.
ReplyDelete:)
Do I have to count the years that WASN'T sewing? I started sewing for myself when I was a teenager (about 14 or 15) making incredibly daggy knee length shorts out of all the daggiest/silliest kiddy prints I could get my hands on. I have always had a sewing machine, or good access to one! and before I got back into sewing a couple of years ago I would do crazy stuff - like hem pants, skirts, etc; make curtains (very badly!); and other crazy stunts too. So, I s'pose you could say I have been sewing for *gulp* nearly 30 years (oh it hurts to say that number...it really truly does!!!)
ReplyDeleteI only started 3 months ago, and have so far a few skirts/blouses and dresses from copying things in my wardrobe. I would really like to learn to use patterns properly though, then I can make things for other people too!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing prize! I'm already loving the blog, another great addition to TSL :)
ReplyDeleteI started sewing at school many moons ago, then had another stint when my teenagers were little. Now I have babies again and I'm LOVING sewing. I'm learning lots of new things and would love the opportunity to learn even more
I've been sewing for about a year, but need all the help I can get! I've never learnt the 'basics' so would love to be able to learn
ReplyDeleteAn awesome prize to launch the blog. Great work Renee!
ReplyDeleteGreat work on the Blog Renee! Awesome competition too! I need to learn to do zippers better! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great blog and competition. Well done on a fantastic community which helps each other :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome Renee! I have been sewing since I was a girl however, got really into again after my daughter was born about 4 years ago.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely an awesome prize! Congratulations on the blog :-)
ReplyDeleteI am one very excited lady.. I got an email from Renee and an email from Her Haby Goddess herself... I am really looking forward to the tutorials and actually cant wait for some homework. Its the 'nerd' in me. Thanks again for this great prize :)
