Hello & welcome to my slice of the blogging
world!
This blog has been created from my passion for
sewing & all things crafty. A few years ago now, I was gifted a brand new
sewing machine from my mum, after asking to borrow her old chunky Janome.
Knowing me as she does, she knew I would never stick at it if I had to navigate
my way on her machine. I'm so grateful to her for such a generous gift, as it
has not only given me a fantastic hobby to keep me sane but it's also opened up
a whole new world of fun & friendships.

A little under one year ago I was thinking of ways
to categorise all the fantastic sewing tutorials I was finding online. The
favourites function in Internet Explorer just wasn't cutting it for me, as I
hated wasting time searching all the links there to find the one tutorial I'd
saved months earlier. That is how The Sewing Library (TSL) came about. I started up a little group with the intention of
adding my fellow sewing friends & family.
Now two months shy of its 1st birthday, The Sewing
Library has managed to reach over 2,500 members. It is bigger than I had ever imagined
& to be honest - I didn't think it would ever be much more than a small
circle of like minded friends. But in a way, it still is just that - on a much
larger scale.
Thanks to the help of some almost strangers, whom I
now call great friends, we have managed to maintain a supportive & close
knit community, even though the group membership is increasing by 70+ members
per week. I personally have learnt so much from the members of TSL & am
still learning something new every day. The members are really what makes TSL a
great place to be. Everyone is so
helpful & generous with their time & advice. You are guaranteed to have
any question asked on the wall answered within minutes & often by several
members.

But this blog won't be just all sewing, all the
time. I'll be branching out & posting all kinds of fun & interesting
topics to do with the entire TSL sister groups, such as the The Kitchen Library or The Printables Library or maybe even The Photography Library. I'll be popping up my own tutorials for sewing & craft projects,
as well as regularly linking you to wonderful tutorials found around the web.
We'll be having sponsored giveaways from time to time. The first of which will
be posted tomorrow & I'm super excited about it.
So please join the TSL sister groups, found here, or our
Facebook Fan Page The Sewing
Library Noticeboard & enjoy being a part of a fantastic community
of like minded people.
